Can't find It's a Wonerful Life Blu-ray Widescreen

Does anybody know when It's a Wonderful life will be released in Blu-ray widescreen format??? They have it on Blu-ray fullframe format but I want the widescreen version.

Simple. Never.

Once again, and just like Wizard of Oz, it wasn't shot in widescreen (but in 1.37:1) so there won't be a widescreen release.

I suggest you learn how to read the technical specs list at IMDB.com for these sorts of questions.

Never. Doesn't exist--movies made before [about] 1952 were not widescreen.

Here we go again. Looking for that which doesn't exist.

Floyd, keep in mind that all movies filmed before the mid fifties were shot in what was known as acadamy standard which was 1.37:1 which is basically 4x3 or your conventional almost square picture.

Movies did not start filming in wide angle till the later fifties and a variety of aspect ratios were used by different studios.

I have another question re older movies.
Around 1989 I used to travel a lot on Swissair and they showed a load of great older films from the 1930s. The song and dance stuff like Astaire, Rogers and others. They were a series of remastered and "colored" (from original black and white) movies. Do these exist these days on DVDs? I mean not the original B&W but the colored editions?

You could try Turner Classic Movies (tcm.com).

Colorized versions may be hard to find, A lot of movie fans lashed out at turner for it. even TCM shows most old films in their original B&W
