| Backup service / software to backup clients to *your* cloud. The title may not adequately explain what I'm looking for...
A colleague of mine owns an IT service provider with enough aggregated bandwidth to provide a pile of clients with remote storage for backup purposes. The issue he's having is sourcing out a good software package or software service provider to allow his clients to complete nightly incremental backups to his location.
Symantec's software doesn't provide that capability unless you cludged around with a lot of licenses on both ends and even then it's not the best solution.
Vembue Technologies offers a partnership with what seems to be exactly what he's looking for; unfortunately when he requested a sales callback in the morning via email to discuss these partnership capabilities, the sales call was returned at the end of the day... from India.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to a professional, reliable solution for backup services for a local service provider to provide? |

What does he use for his RMM? While it may be a bit expensive, Kaseya has this functionality built in as well. It's based on Acronis. -- Team Discovery: Project Hope |

| reply to urbanriot I have been using NovaStor V7 for a number of years I have a 300 user license with about 90+/- using just over 4T with a 2 year retention. I have been playing with the idea of upgrading to the XSP, but the hard sale, we will install the demo for you and walk you through it while holding your hand is a bit off-putting for me. I like to do my demo installs a night when I'm bored. To schedule a daytime install is annoying. So V7 is where I will stay for a while. |

My buddy just called me and relayed that he spoke with reps from both Storagecraft and Novastor, amongst other places, and he liked what he heard from both of them over all else and they were both domestic (US) services so I guess now he's trying to figure out which one is better than the other.
Thanks for the input gents, sounds like these contributions sorted him right out! |

 | reply to urbanriot Why not something like Freenas running at the server side and an Rsync client like delta copy running on the machines? Thats what I do, works great! I also use the Rsync within freenas to sync the server side with another server at a different site so I have 3 copies all in different locations. |
