 | Slow upload speed on 30/3 plan I had a tech dispatch out today and swap out my ultra gateway for a DPC2100 modem.
Since then my upload speed will not go above 1.2 mbps. Switching the upstream channel ID to 2 seems to increase upload speed by .2 mbps but I haven't managed to get anything higher.
Here are my signal stats:
Downstream Status Locked Channel ID 6
Downstream Frequency 597000000 Hz
Modulation QAM256
Bit Rate 5360537
Power Level -5.6 dBmV
Signal to Noise Ratio 36.7 dBmV
Upstream Status Locked Channel ID 2
Upstream Frequency 37000000 Hz
Modulation 32QAM
Symbol Rate 5120 Ksym/sec
Power Level 41.7 dBmV |

 | That's not a docsis 3 modem. With the 30/3 plan they should give you an arris |
|
 | I figured that was the problem, not bonding the upstream channels.
Too bad everyone I've talked to at WOW so far has no idea what a DOCSIS 3 modem is. |

How did you switch channels on the DPC2100 modem? |

You might have to change your access level by going to 192.168.100.1/_aslvl.asp |

The DPC2100's are not built for that, and will have issues with trying to do a consistent 30mbps down as well. If you're unable to get someone at customer service who knows about this, either ask to be escalated to a tier 3 representative, or just call/stop by your local WOW office and ask if you can swap your modem out for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. There are currently three models we carry, which are the TG862, the DG860 and the DG950. Any of those models will work for you, since you do not have phone service through us. I'm not sure which ones your local office will have in stock. -- Dan Della Terza WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone CMTS Operations Engineer |
