Pay attention to your bill

After making some changes to my account during the last month, to get the $10 unlimited internet usage, it seems on my bill I was charged $25 (not $30) and also a DSL activation fee.

I called up and they managed to have it corrected (unfortunately it had to be a correction by credit only, more of a hassle to get my current pre-authorized payment reverted in time) - however it was a shock and a surprise to me to see such a huge increase in my bill.

Check your bill, especially if you have a pre-authorized payment plan setup and made any changes to your account.

Frankly I'm shocked and surprised that you were shocked & surprised about a billing error from a major Canadian telco...

lol......bell is notorious for screwing up monthly bills....no surprise here.

Never, ever allow pre-authorized payments on bills whose amounts are not set in stone. I'd forgo services if there was no choices.

Always check you Bell bill. They once made an error 14 months in a row on my bill. Interesting that the errors were always in their favour.
