1 edit | Site down just for me, help. StumpedFew days ago a site I sometimes use for blackout games stopped working. I didn't think to much of it assumed it would return. 3 days later it was still timing out so I checked downforeveryoneorjustme.com and they said it was just me....
So I tried Chrome Firefox and IE on 3 different computers, cleared caches and cookies. Updated computers and rebooted them plus rebooted all networking gear. Tried different DNS servers and tried IP direct connection.
Traceroutes fail at same ip when done from PC's and from Tomato Routers tracert tool.
The extra puzzling part is I can get to site on same internet connection wifi from my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, but three computers can't browsers or torrent clients. I am at a total loss, I can usually figure this stuff out but this one has me stumped and over my head.

My traceroute gets the server on hop 14, directly after 109.202.96.158 where yours stops.

| Thank-You for checking, I'm very puzzled 3 computers and router all die at same hop. 4 different android devices work. its going on 4 days now.
I don't do HOST file blocking these days but just double checked it was stock and it is (not that it should matter but I'm grasping at straws now lol). Leading up to this I noticed sporadic downtime 3 - 6 hours here and there. Usually didn't wrestle with it cause it would return. The few times I did check, test sites would say it was down just for me. I always figured it was a Shaw or routing quirk but since it never lasted long didn't worry about it. |

| Security software blocking the IP for another reason? (same IP used for mutiple sites, one might be a bad site therefore blocked)

1 edit | Thought as much disabled all privacy browser plugins and disabled MS Security Essentials realtime protection, Couldnt find a way to set website exceptions. No software firewall, just hardware one in router. Still couldn't connect in browsers or in torrent clients.
Update: Apparently the IP my traceroutes fail at is the Hosting server of the site. Site staff guessed its my ISP blocking it perhaps.... not likely considering Android devices connect no problem, and I assume you are on Shaw also... |

Maybe you are timing out? the site takes up to ten seconds to start loading for me on Telus and same via a proxy connection.
Edit: loads instantly after accessing the main page once...

Yes, I am on Shaw, and my traceroute completes correctly, as I said, it should be next on the traceroute you posted, and then exit correctly (the next hop on your traceroute is the end).
I thought the site could be blocking your IP, but your other devices work.
Try safe-mode with networking on your windows computers.

Another day more fun :)
Pic of traceroute run from router Asus RT-N16 stable toastman Tomato build with max 10 sec timeout setting. Dies at a new IP today same hop shouldn't be timeout issue and running the traceroute from router sort of knocks PC OS config problems off the list I would think. Router connected to a Shaw Cisco in bridge mode.
Fired up one of my Win 7 boxes in safe mode with networking, same deal as before cept new final IP today. The fact my android devices can connect to site in question on my shaw would point to it not being an IP blocked problem.
My router unable to trace route and ping tests to the sites IP and domain name fail, thus it shouldn't be computer setup plus windows safe mode has the same issue.
Kev here another western Canada friend and my brother 6 blocks away in same town all on Shaw can connect points towards it not being shaw blocking host or site..... I don't even know what to look at next lol. Any more tips be appreciated thank-you for the replies so far.

Well just tried hotspot shield to test a proxy and I can connect my computer with it running but not without.
Android tablets (wifi only models) connected to same Shaw as computers can connect with no proxy running. Not sure what this tells me lol |

| More stumped then ever at this point. Still hitting 78.152.46.198 at finall hop not 188.95.49.168 like you and myself the other day. Haven't gotten any feedback from anyone on their end that knows what's going on.
