 | Motorola or Cisco DVR Better? I am in San Antonio and recently got TV service again. My city has both the Motorola and Cisco boxes for DVRs.
So I first got the Cisco 8642 but today I went to our service center trying to get the Cisco 8742 and got put on the waiting list for it.
However, we got the Motorola DCX3400 the lady claimed it had 500 GB hard drive but once I got home was disappointed to find out that it has a 320 GB hard drive.
So I am trying to figure out if I should go for trying to get the Cisco 8742 still or the Motorola DCX3510
You guys input on which one you think is better would be great.
Thanks |

Thanks actually the the DCX3400 that is being deployed in San Antonio is 500GB as it is the DCX3400M not the original DCX3400 which only had a 320GB hard drive and not to mention these were never deployed in Cisco TWC systems only Motorola areas that have iGuide. |

 | Wow, that is excellent news!
So another question, is there a way to access the diagnostics menus on this DVR? |

So another question, is there a way to access the diagnostics menus on this DVR? I have two of the original DCX3400 with iGuide and the diagnostics is power of and hit select on the remote withing 2 seconds which works on the DCX3400M as well but that is for the motorola diagnostics. The diagnostics menu for navigator is the same as the Cisco 8240HDC or 8642HDC. |

 | I don't remember how to get into Diag for Cisco boxes what are the steps for that?
Also out of curiosity do you know if San Antonio carries the Motorola DCX5100 too?
It seems like there is no reason for them to carry that model since the DCX3400M already has 500 GB hard drive. |
