WoW for me. I know I'm over 200 days played and probably close to a year, that's 24 hours x 365 days played. Then again I do have a few toons

Angry Birds doesn't count as a game.

Angry Birds is what you fire up on your phone to babysit your two-year-old so you can play real video games.

1. Age of Empires II
2. Starcraft I
3. Sim City 2000/4
4. Age of Empires I
5. Eve Online
6. StarCraft II

Probably in that order.

I played Dune on DOS for hours too, but can't remember how much since I was kicked in the head by a pony at age 9 and have forgotten everything before that time.

This explains a lot.

1. Age of Empires II (played non-stop from 2000 to 2005, then spoaradically played the later part of 2005 and 2006. Done by 2007).
2. Internet Checkers (yeah the version that came with Windows XP - played this when I wasn't playing AoE II from 2002 to 2007 non-stop)
3. Counter Strike Source - started playing in 2005 when AoE II's multiplayer started getting hacked and sucking. Stopped playing when I graduated college and the ping times sucked off campus. Sometime around 2009.

Wow is the game I have played the most. just over 400 days played across all my toons. 300 on the main alone.

After Wow I would have to say the GTA IV. I have played it pretty consistently since it came out. Sometimes just driving around listening to my custom radio station. Not necessarily mowing down pedestrians either. Literally just driving around.

More recent game that I have played a ton is Skyrim. 225 hours played according to Steam.

Tetris for Game Boy. I can't even imagine how many thousands of hours I spent on that.

1. WoW (over 150 days played) and I stopped playing addictively 3 years ago.
2. Halo 2 I don't know how many hours or days it calculates out to but when I was deployed to Iraq its all we did when we werent working and I carried the habit back to my home station for about 2 years.
3. LoL (About 3000 total NON custom games) if I average each non custom game to 40 minutes it comes out to 83 total days.
4. Madden NFL series I played a ton of this as a kid growing up. If I wasn't outside playing baseball or football I was playing Madden with my cousins!

Seeing your lists makes me feel better about my gaming habits lol

I'll not be ashamed and put this (sorry if Necroing is frowned upon in this forum)...

Super Smash Brothers Melee - Me and my friend got the 10k hours achievement (most of this was NOT afk)
Pokemon - Through all the versions, probably 3500+ hours
WoW - Well over a year played (been playing since release)
Daiblo 2 - Definitely in the 1500-2000+ range with many 90+s
LoL - Almost 1k custom games alone with ranked and others in there
Dungeon Seige - Probably around 500 hours
PoE - Getting up around 200+ hours now and climbing fast
Oblivion - 500ish hours
Star Ocean - 400+ hours
Fiesta Online - Over 1000 hours
Runescape - 300+ hours
Ragnarok Online - At least 2500 hours
Warcraft 3 DoTA - 500+ hours
Phantasy Star Online - 1000+ hours (Highest character in 160s)
Diablo 3 - 200-300+ hours
Luvinia Online - 500+ hours

I'm sure there's more but I just can't recall right now. Will edit if I remember anything substantual.

Am I the only one who gets depressed when reading this thread?

I mean shit yes I had some great times playing games (still do). But take wow for instance (I probably have about 350 days played), would I trade those memories for instead having become fluent in another language, written a novel, carved a turkey from a tree trunk, become a power lifter, read 800 books?

I guess the reality is that if I hadn't been playing WoW I would probably have been playing another game, or watching TV, but that is the depressing part. It makes me wish I was more productive.

Take 350 days of time played x24hrs / 8 (8hr work day) means it is the equivalent of 1,050 work days / 5 (days per week) = 210 weeks of work / 54 workweeks/year = 3.89 years of work

Shit that is a lot of time

I want to say WoW, because that is the current time sink. Major time sink. I'm sure I have a couple thousand hours into it at least since I started playing (right before Cata dropped).

I purposely stayed away from WoW for years though because I knew I would become addicted. Just like I became addicted to a MORPG in the mid 90s. It was a MUD called Gateway and it probably still ranks ahead of WoW in total time invested. I played it solid for four years and then on a "now and then" basis for the following ten years. It's still up, but it's a ghost town (and has been for years).
