[Internet] Packet Loss and Intermittent Internet in St. Pete, FL

Phins3413 posted : Hello all, this is my first time posting to this forum.

I am having intermittent packet loss on my RR lightning service, which is leading to slow and unresponsive internet and also no internet at all.

I have had three technicians out so far. The 1st replaced the modem. The 2nd replaced a coax cable in the box on the outside of the house, and the 3rd replaced a fitting on the pole, and also ran a tap test and other diagnostics.
All 3 techs said they could not find a specific problem. The level 3 tech support was able to find 20-25% packet loss on the phone, but every time the techs come out to service they find nothing wrong.

It seems like it happens after 5p when the temperature drops. I have read about others having the same problem and it being nothing to do with the cabling to the house, but something along Brighthouse's cabling.

This has started happening about a month ago, before that it was perfect.

I have a 4th technician coming out tonight between 6-8p. Hoping that the problem will be present when he is here so that he might be able to diagnose it.

Please help!!!

Thanks,

Bob

P.S. I am in the St. Pete, FL area.
