Ordered Digital Economy, received Digital Starter?

I have blast plus as well.

How are you certain you are receiving Digital Starter? One of the best ways to determine is if you are receiving any of the sports channels (ESPN, CSN) as those are included in starter but not economy.

I too felt like Economy was more channels than I thought I'd be getting, but I'm still on it as I dont have any of the sports channels.

I'm in the Houston, TX area and I got my box last week, it's a Cisco 150N unit.

I'm receiving such channels as FX, BBC, Syfy, TLC etc. All channels if you look on the Comcast site are listed as only available with Digital Starter. The channel list the installer gave me has a list of channels under "expanded basic", I'm receiving all the channels on that list. It's probably an old list since expanded basic is supposed to be dead now. It also shows Digital Starter too, but only shows HD channels under that category.

Digital Economy is listed on that piece of paper and specifically says what the DE tier is supposed to receive, and we receive alot more then the short list it states.

Not to mention, isn't on demand not supposed to be included? Do you receive on demand service?

Just checked some more, we DO receive ESPN2 and ESPN, plus HGTV, hallmark channel etc. We receive everything on the local area channel list that's under "expanded basic" which apparently is what they still call it around here. In fine print it says you must have a digital receiver to get the expanded basic channels.

They completely shut off all analog broadcast on the local network about a year ago.

I would log on to comcast.net and see what video package it actually shows on your account.

This does vary from area to area, but typically a box needs a channel map on it to limit it to the economy service. This is independant to the rate code for your video service. Usually if an economy rate code is applied, but not the correct channel map then the box will receive the starter package.

On demand is independant. A Correct economy rate code will not allow a customer to access ON Demand ( regardless of the Channel map)

If you are getting on demand access I would guess that you at least have a Video plan that is at least starter.

The extra channels could still be coming in due to the wrong channel map. Its not something they usually look for, but could be found by an alert CAE when you call in or by a service tech during a visit.
It does say streampix is included with your Economy tier. I have not seen that before.
