bingo, right in the blow hole ;o). 8 weeks from april is reasonable. not till june. oh, and should have been more clear. the walls are not being tiled. the walls are sheetrock and the floor is tile. big panel tiles too, not the little stuff.
this is a long story short. one of these people is a neighbor. not one of the most trust worthy individuals, but my father tried to help him out, I guess. before they even started, this guy demanded an extra $1,000 before he would start the job, and they spent some days drinking when they should have been working.
fast forward ten years. sandy comes, mother divorced. lots of work on pate. just my bad luck this guy happens to be down there when they bring our neighbors father over (the guy we really like, his kids are slimy at best)...they get to talking, suddenly we have a contractor. she just gave them a small advance yesterday.
My father got his walls up in two days. he already had spray on foam insulation in place. he hasn't worked on the tile yet. This is why I say three months even with two guys is a bit excessive. but i don't know what i can do to convince her to try someone else. she just doesn't want to think about it. with work and a wedding coming up.
i just don't want to get screwed again. i figured maybe if i could find some bad reviews on this guy, it might change opinion, but looking up his business, nothing comes up. Mark McCormick Commercial and Residential Construction' of toms river nj. maybe someone local has had dealings with him and could assuage my fears a little. first impressions on this guy are ruined.
