| Photoshop CS 6 - Default Save on OS X The default save as for Photoshop CS 6 is Photoshop PDF.
The internet is filled with snarky comments and insults to use Google then links to dead sites. There is no live data anymore.
Is there a way somewhere to change that default to let's say PNG, JPEG, TIFF, whatever?
Thanks. -- "If something about the human body disgusts you, complain to the manufacturer" - Lenny Bruce What this country needs is a good five dollar plasma weapon. |

I went thru the preferences and I can't see "default file type" option. -- F**K THE NHL. Go Blue Jays 2013!!!

Thanks for the answers though. |

| reply to Mike That is a sticky setting. The default will change to whatever the last file type you saved as. Initially it is PSD but if your next save as even for a new file is JPG then it will stay JPG even if you start creating yet another all new file.
So if you are always using say PSD, then it will always default to PSD. If you are always using JPG, it will always default to JPG unless your document will lose data saving as JPG (such as it has layers). |

If you're working in 16 bit it will save the file in a 16 bit format like TIF or PSD regardless of what format you previously saved in. You'll have to convert to 8 bit to save as a JPG. |
