HTCC join:2013-03-18 Innisfil, ON | CIK Telecom - 150M*/10M - Unlimited 3 weeks ago I signed up for the their Tier 5 Ultimate High Speed - up to 150M*/10M Unlimited
For $99.99 - It uses the Technicolor DCW775, a DOCSIS 3.0 4-port GEthernet Wireless Cable Gateway/Modem
During the Morning and Daytime all is perfect 145 Mbps down and 9.8 Mbps up.
The Evening is slower - 35 Mbps down but sill 9.8 Mbps up load
But way faster than what I had on a Rogers Rocket Hub and a $400 per month bill.

Some small issues in the past couple of weeks
March 14th CIK completed a major network upgrade, increasing our connection from 1GE fiber to 10GE fiber in some of Rogers cable network areas. For unknown reasons, this caused network traffic over the 10GE fiber to get stuck at 3GE. We have traced the problem to the interface with Rogers and Rogers Engineering is now trying to solve the issue.
Please be advised that the following areas are currently experiencing slow speed from 6:00pm to 12:00am due to this reason:
Mississauga Markham Richmond Hill Downtown (Dupont area) East York (Comstock area) Some locations outside GTA
We apologize for the unexpected slow speed issue cause by the upgrade and we expect it to be fixed ASAP.
An update will follow once the issue is solved.
Thank you for using CIK Telecom, Jordan Deng Chief Executive Officer www.ciktel.com

March 16th
Hello Valued Customer,
We are happy to inform you the slow speed issue caused by Rogers has been solved in the afternoon of March 14. CIK is the first ISP using 10GE fiber interconnecting with Rogers. Rogers had no such experience before. Rogers setup wrong values for some settings.
We have monitored network traffic two days and the rush hour issue does not appear.
We have noticed Rogers to connect the 2nd 10GE fiber. We will upgrade rest of Rogers areas within next 2-3 months.
CIK will keep upgrading our network to meet the customer requirements of fastest speed and unlimited downloading.
Thank you for using CIK Telecom, Jordan Deng Chief Executive Officer www.ciktel.com

HTCC join:2013-03-18 Innisfil, ON | So far. No caps.
No fine print on the website or any documents that came with my modem |
|
 | reply to nirajshah7 That price is definitely better than that offered by TekSavvy for 150/10 Unlimited being only $10 more than the 300Gb plan by TekSavvy. The TekSavvy 150/10 is $219 and this one is $99.
However I am not sure about their quality of service and their support since I haven't even heard about this provider. |
|
 | reply to HTCC are you now getting full speeds in evenings after issue has been resolved? |

HTCC join:2013-03-18 Innisfil, ON | Getting around 30 Mbps download. They have NOT updated the Barrie connection from Rogers I'm told. Another 90 days (3 months) |
|
 | reply to HTCC Ah ok.. really surprised they are doing unlimited for $99 .. when Teksavvy is around $220 ... |
|
HTCC join:2013-03-18 Innisfil, ON | Don't tell them. They may double my price |
|
 | reply to HTCC I'll wait for pricing from Start... |
|
 | Start won't offer Unlimited plans however. They would offer 300Gb capped plans. |

mikee join:2012-12-21 Gloucester, ON | reply to HTCC also their 45/4 is only 59.99$ for unlimited while start offers the same with 300gb cap, and teksavvy is 54.99$ for 45/4 with 300gb cap....

 | reply to mikee They apply a fair usage policy to there unlimited which so far in searching the Website i cannot find -- Every time Someone leaves Sympatico an Angel gets its wings.

|
 | reply to HTCC Would be nice to see a provider that oversells to have an option to use throttling/traffic management during peak. I would much rather have a throttled connection than have all my traffic thrown under a bus |
|
 | reply to HTCC If they can fix your crappy speeds during peak that will be quite impressive.
The same unlimited plan on Teksavvy would cost over twice as much! |
