| [Troubles] Caller-ID Intermittent Problem I'm a Windstream Customer in Lake Butler, Florida (area 386 exchange is 496) and I have subscribed to Caller ID Service on both of my incoming lines. I'm using a brand-new Panasonic 2-line phone with Caller ID Display. My primary line has DSL service, also. For the past several weeks my Caller ID has been sporadic. It sometimes displays the Caller ID information, and sometimes it does not. When it does not display the caller ID information, it does not record that a "new call" was received. It was behaving like this even before I replaced my old phone with this new one. The problem does not seem to be related to any particular call originator, nor is it limited to one incoming line.
I'm looking for a suggestion as to where the problem might be. My phone, with its Caller ID Display, must be ruled out, since the old one also did the same thing.

 | I had the same issue. Windstream made multiple trips out, only to say "it works at the side of your house." While this was true, nothing inside was working. Turns out, it was low voltage on their line coming in. I finally had one technician who climbed the pole and noticed that the phone line continued on down the street. According to his specs, it should not. So he fixed the problem by clipping the line. After that, my caller id worked everywhere throughout my house. I have no idea what happened to the people downstream from me that day. |

 WindstreamPremium,VIP join:2009-03-31 Twinsburg, OH kudos:33 | I apologize, I am a DSL/Broadband Technician. I am not very familiar with troubleshooting phone issues. But from the little I know sporadic Caller ID issues could be a problem in the switch, programming, or copper issue. You would be better off finding an accurate answer if you call : 800-782-6206.
