Well you have a mix of a situation here. First, the 16.5 wheel size is about totally obsolete, and for that reason you will not likely find many, if any comparable size tires in the "P-Metric" classification size.

The 8.75R16.5 is still available however, but getting them for $100 each isn't likely either. Here is a listing from The Tire Rack at $150 ea:

If the truck is a real "keeper" then I would recommend finding a set of 16" wheels to fit it, which opens your selection up immensely, and get pretty much whatever size you want that will fit properly on the truck.

You can get the tires from craigslist for under $100.

Here's a local ad as an example: »seattle.craigslist.org/tac/ptd/3···041.html

quote:
6 - 8 ply Tires- 90% Tread - 8.75/R16.5 - All Season Radial L/T - $550 (Bonney Lake)
6- 8 ply Tires - 90 % Tread- 8.75/R16.5 - All Season Radial L/T
2 stear tires for front and 4 tires for the back all tires in nice condition
With Mount & Balanced $550.00

Used tires? Seriously?

May as well get a tube of Vaseline with the deal while you're at it.

I would have a tough time trusting a deal with anyone who writes "stear" tires for steer....

Not really advice, just a consideration. Recaps can be had in that size for less than 100. Although i would go after them used ones before recaps. Im guessing them used ones are off a old duelly and actually sounds like a good deal.

I don't see anything seriously wrong with used tires at the right price. I have actually bought 4 yesterday (on wheels) for a price one new tire with install.

Looking at the OP's picture, that tire is suffering from old age, not wear, so the truck is probably not getting a whole lot use, and may not worth to put a new set on it.

I'd want to see/check the date code on any of those slow selling near obsolete tires before you buy.
