[Embarq] CenturyLink web mail

Something has changed with Centurylink's web mail over the last few days. The screen display's font has changed enough that the difference between read and unread emails is much less apparent, as in the bold face type is not bold any more. Also, if I open an email, it is displayed one word at a time down the left margin. (!) Also, composing an email, never quick with Centurylink email, is now glacially slow. These changes are seen on every computer tried.

I use web mail away from home as it's the only way to access my emails. While it's always been crude in its functions, it is much worse now.

These comments apply to the 'basic' email, which I prefer over the cluttered 'enhanced' email.

It's especially bad in Firefox. While waiting for fixes, one of the following should work better for some purposes:

»mail2web.com/pda/

»mail2web.com/webmail/login.aspx

Thank you! I also passed it on to my wife who has the same issues when she is at work.

Hope CL will address this issue.

Any hope of (1) Centurylink actually reading my trouble reports? All I get is a canned answer, even when I include screen shots, or (2) Centurylink actually fixing the issue that they caused?

Your best bet is to open another e-mail account (Gmail is nice), then use POP to pull messages from your Centurylink mail into your Gmail inbox.
