GPU Temperature?

55 degrees Celsius seems a bit high for a system at idle or even under load?

Should I be worried? Should I move my Audio card as far away from it as possible?

What's the complete setup? 55 C is fine under load. Mine goes up to 69-75 C when heavily OC'd.

Your case and case fan setup is the most important determinant. Also ensure the PSU fan is facing down.

Kris is right, lots of things to consider like case fans and how you have things installed. First things first though, have you checked the fan on the GPU?

My card idles right about 36-40c depending on room temperature.

Under full load, it's never gone above 72c.

I wouldn't even sweat 55c one bit. You're fine.

Tom's Hardware testing shows this GPU to run at 16°C over ambient temps idle, and 48.6°C over ambient temps under load.

I use an app called RealTemp to check my GPU and CPU temps. If you start the app and let it run, it keeps the max temp available when you hover the mouse over the system tray icon. This way I can play a game for 15-20 minutes and then go check to see what max temp I hit.

Edit: Looks like I posted the test results for the 5550 silent version. The HD 6450 being tested was the version with a fan.

From what I have read, I would think anything around 14-20°C over ambient temps when idle is acceptable, and around 45-60°C over ambient under a load.

Still using my original PSU (Bestec 300w ATX) at the moment and yes, it's facing down. Um, actually the fan is located at the back this system.

This GPU does not have a fan.

If you lived near me i would send you one of my spare cases rather than live in fear of someone discovering that nightmare.

Please tell me it doesn't have a beige cover?

Go get at least some zip-ties, or rubber bands and clean that up
then get a better video card, case, cpu, mobo, ...

And sponsor eye bleach.

Don't look...

Too late!

I have to rethink where to put the surround sound speakers and center channel now. The center speaker used to set atop my 80lb CRT.

When I was running triple cards, 45c-50c idle was the norm on air having cards all right next to one another with no breathing room, on load it hit 85c

Single card 25-40c idle should be normal depends on the card cooler and thermal paste. Single card on load should yield 60c-80c.

Gtx 580 tri sli full wc loop high oc i got a stable 70c 65c was reachable with 6 ultrakaze making typhoon noises.

Most newer gpus are able to take 100c for awhile i wouldent be worried.

My gpu with 3 fans gets to about 55C under load, its overclocked but still, so yours with no fan is should be just fine.

No worries. My card sits at 53C idle and goes to about 75-80c under load.

Never had a problem. Never will. These things are rated to go to 120C.

i run my system on the extreme quiet side. my gpus will sit around 87-90c under full load for hours at a time during the past 3 years with zero problems.
