[Weather] F*ck this snow

Last year on this date it was 35C and today the Dorval weather station has already reported 26cm has fallen and we're not done.

This is bullshit.

yeah, the only time we're never put on a guilt trip that the world is warming up is when the temps are below average. Enjoy.

Sure... but a heavy snowfall at this point in March is far, far, far more common around these parts than a high of 35C.

It was 25, not 35...Still, point taken.

I pretty much have had enough of winter..it can just go away now.

The wind is blowing huge flakes of snow sideways. Good grief.

I have a charcoal BBQ and I've been dying to make filet mignons on the grill again, but in this snow?

I went to The Keg last week-end to indulge.

Here is what it was like in Kitchener last year:

March 11: 16.5
March 12: 13.3
March 13: 16.8
March 14: 17.8
March 15: 20.0
March 16: 21.4
March 17: 21.7
March 18: 23.2
March 19: 24.0 (last day of winter)
March 20: 25.3
March 21: 26.3
March 22: 26.5 (80F)
March 23: 18.5 (and it felt downright cold that day)

This was at the airport too, it was a couple degrees warmer in town.

It was a really good two week run, never got really cold that month either.

Lol, I know. It's just so inconvenient to start a charcoal BBQ in winter. If I had a propane BBQ like my father then it's a not brainer... how hard is it to press a button?

Charcoal is a bitch, but it's soooooo good.

Me too. Of course it's pretty close to my back door, but when there's a lot of snow I still need to shovel it.

what do you use for lighting the charcoal?
I found the chimney with newspaper is quite easy to get a good bed of coals started. But there definitely is more work between setting up and cleanup afterwards.

It got much colder into the beginning of April last year, though. Seriously screwed up farmers.

It's been snowing here on and off all day today. I've had enough of it too.

I use an electric heating element... I put the element in the chimney, pour the charcoal or brickets over the element, and once they're all glowing red hot I take out the element and off I go. It's, by far, the fastest method I've found. No dealing with paper, lighters, fluids, etc.

chimney started by newspaper is quick
Then dump them on the lower grate and good to go faster than gas.

Only in Canada would a thread about snow turn to BBQing.
I'm jealous, I don't have one.

Good for you if you like your meatballs grilled, however BBQ sex is a little too extreme for this Canuck.
