[Southwest] Can I cancel a 12 months retention promo with out pr

I got a upgrade from 3 to 6 for 19.95 as a 12 months retention promo in October 2012 and here it is six months later and my wife wants to switch to Time warner special phone ,internet , cable. Is there a cancellation fee for canceling AT&T internet? My wife already put the order in for 3/25. Can I keep my SBCGLOBAL addresses?
I use email on the web but my wife uses pop3 to Seamonkey on her computer.Do I need to forward all my emails to another address? so many questions!

16 pages here will answer your question. I won't even begin to paraphrase

»Keep sbcglobal.net or att.net email address after DSL cancel

Thanks for the reply,My wife is porting our number to Time warner also. I read somewere that when that happens at&t will kill the dsl and the phone service. Is this correct?

2 things.

1.) As long as the ETF (if any) is satisfied
2.) all final bills are paid and you are even/square

Then, you can keep the email address. It does convert to a free webmail only account (pop won't be available to free accounts unless you pay for it)

Don't get TWC for cable tv, you'll regret it. Get TWC internet only and get a 3rd party voice service (Voipo is great). Directv is great for TV in my honest opinion.

I will defer to your judgement (and insider knowledge) on what is currently happening to the email accounts when a customer terminates an AT&T account.

However, I have just reached my second anniversary of not being an AT&T DSL customer, and I still have multiple att.net and bellsouth.net email accounts that still have POP and SMTP access from PC email clients and IMAP access from my AT&T cellphone's built-in email client. I know that the TOS says that terminated accounts will be converted to "free" Yahoo! webmail only accounts (and it said that two years ago), but Yahoo! does not seem to universally adhere to that edict. And I am not an isolated case...I know of several other cases where AT&T/Yahoo! email accounts remain fully functional long after the AT&T account was terminated.

FWIW, I am still an AT&T Mobility customer (and was a BellSouth Mobility customer long before I was able to get BellSouth DSL service); does that perhaps make a difference? Or has AT&T perhaps recently started to force Yahoo! to enforce that part of the TOS?

Thanks for the reply, don't know of an EFT?,fixing to pay the bill.
Time warner is slick, sent a salesman to the house to get my wife to upgrade.Said he would give he a day to think about it but I checked and the order is already in. The Cable is in her name because I was at work when we got it. I am kind of leery about doing it because we have had intermittent problems with picture breakup in the past and they couldn't seem to fix it.

UPDATE.Well it seems that my wife found out some of the things the TW salesman told her wasn't true so she decided to cancel the upgrade. So still using good old AT&T DSL. I think my promo price is good til October,so I will coast til then.

Just a tip, don't order from the door-to-door salesmen for any company (AT&T, Time Warner, Electric providers, etc.) They are almost always contractors who work on commission and will usually tell you anything you want to hear in an attempt to get you to sign up. If you want to switch do your research online and either order online or call the company directly.

I think the first part is correct. If you have or are still paying for service usually it's a free perk.
