[DSL] new DSL plans on website

No free dryloop installation.

Not only are the new prices up but there's a 15/10 plan for $34.99 per month.

I didn't think they were going to do a 15/10 plan?

It's also not possible to view the details on a plan without entering your postal code, and if you do enter your postal code, it will hide all the plans it thinks you don't qualify for.

Result? If there is an error in the Bell qualification database, it's impossible to view the details on the higher plans without guessing the URL.

Hey guys,

The deployment for today is not yet completed so not all of the functionality/changes will be functional/displayed.

More details to come once completed.

Thanks,

Andre

I'm guessing some of these changes will include the modem purchase / rent to town / return (for people who were renting but owned their own modem) options?

So I guess we shouldn't be immediately calling in to order 50 meg service? :P

My finger is poised on the button to send the request to get my qualification speed updated in Bell's database (my listed qual is less than half my attainable), so as soon as TSI confirms 50 meg service is live...

What are "the rest of the options" that would apply to 25/10? I presume it would only be the purchase of the modem.

Please confirm.

TSI's website still qualifies me up to 25/10 but Bell's only 5/1, think you need to get that checked Marc. I asked in Bell's direct forum and they confirmed their online check was correct.

I think TSI Keith said he was investigating but haven't heard back anything.

It means more coming from you and it is VERY good you participate in the forums.

Marc can you confirm two more things.

First, if we want to sign up immediately, can we "rent" the modem for one month, then buy it out when it's available for sale? If so would it be possible to deduct the rental price from the purchase price of the modem?

Second, will the dry loop changes come into effect immediately? (i.e. free dry loop install, and free dry loop with tektalk unlimited)

On that point TSI's site says I dont qualify for 50/10 where as bell says I do, and though I'm not 100% sure I tend to believe bell. I think there might be many DB errors.

Now that some of the pricing is up I notice that the packages for Telus have the updated numbers but it appears the 50Mbps package is still missing. Is it still needing to be added or is it just not advertised?

I confirmed with a rep on the Bells' Direct Support forum though. Start's new qualifier puts me at 15 but 11 attainable. TSI Keith said the internal tool for TSI also only qualifies me for 10/1.

this is due to cogeco.. where all cable offerings show up even in areas where cogeco or rogers may not be...

without knowing the general area.. we can't know.

if you proceed to order.. and you can always over ride the selection... and it will allow you to choose a different package I believe.

In terms of line qualification, if the VDSL modem for 25/10 shows in its internal line stats a potential data rate of above 50/10, can we safely assume that an upgrade is possible? Or is there some work necessary on Bell's part at the head-end first?

Bell's tool, unfortunately, gives no results for my postal code (asks to call in). I already get 25/10 on a dry loop via Teksavvy.

In order for Bell to say you can get 50 meg service, your qualification speed must be 55 megs or higher.
