Magic jack "MAGICFEATURES" call forwarding.

I have a Magic Jack the very first version and have had it for 5-6 years. I just purchased MAGICFEATURES which "ROCKS". Like most know Magic Jack stop offering call forwarding last year and I was not happy as most were not. I contacted Magic Jack thru there web site and I got a CSR in less then a minute. I explained to the young lady that I really needed my call forwarding option back or I would switch to NET TALK. She says since I have been a loyal customer for many years and own 3 Magic Jacks she would give me a link to re-activate my call forwarding. She did and it worked right away. I just purchased MAGICFEATURES and it works great. My problem is that when I block calls it only works when I do not call forward. When I call forward from the Magicfeatures screen my Magic Jack account screen thru internet explorer opens up and turns on the call forwarding thru the magic Jack site link. My call forwarding then will not block calls that I added to my list. If I do not call forward the call blocking works great. Any body have a ideal what is going on ? I may have to contact MAGIC JACK and have them turn off my call forwarding link they gave me but I am afraid the call forwarding will not work with the MAGICFEATURES. Any help would be great. Thanks Ken

2 Questions...

1) What other "Features" does MagicFeatures add? The name implies plural features. Are they planning to turn other standard features into pay as you go crap?

2) How much does it cost?

Personally I think if MJ is going to start nickel and diming me for "value added services" then I may as well just go back to Bell where that sort of bullsh*t is the soup of the day....

I can't seem to find an answer at their website. Does MagicFeatures work with a standalone MJ+ or does it have to be hooked up to a computer to work? It seems to be software so I can't see how it would work without a computer which makes it utterly useless to me and anyone else who owns the plus.

The magicJack Plus in its native form actually provides more features when it is plugged into the USB port of a computer than plugged into a router. Those extra features provided by magicJack include call history, calling by contact name and more detailed volume controls.

The Magicfeatures Plugin that adds a lot more features to those offered by magicJack is actually being used by a lot of magicJack Plus owners. The bottom line is some people simply need the extra features provided to have what they deem to be a more usable phone service.

For clarification, to take advantage of the additional features the Magicfeatures Plugin offers, a regular magicJack or magicJack Plus dongle MUST be plugged into the USB port of a computer. This is detailed in the very first sentence of the product description at »www.pcphonesoft.com .

Outside using the Magicfeatures Plugin, a lot of existing magicJack and magicJack Plus owners are also switching every week to Google Voice using the downloadable GVJackApp. This trend is steadily continuing to increase.

Yup, but still 100% USELESS for anyone who bought an MJ+ for the ability to use as a standalone device. So's GVjack for that matter.

Yup and if magicJack's standalone service offering does not meet your needs or expectations, please consider selling your MJ+ on Ebay so it can be recycled and used by somebody else for use with the GVJackApp + Google Voice. You definitely won't have a hard time selling it.
