It's already being offered by TPIA. The only caveat is that you have to be in an area that is serviced by FTTN which according to some estimates is 40%-59%.

I doubt it. It is more likely that you confused cable-specific TPIA for DSL-specific GAS/GAS-FTTN. TPIA is never used to refer to DSL unless in error.

When one takes it upon themselves to apply already-known acronyms to things entirely different that were never used for them before, it only goes to promote further ignorance and confusion.

Let us clarify, TPIA is the name of wholesale cable internet, and applies strictly to cable. GAS (Gateway Access Service) is the DSL equivalent to this.
