 | Chicago W.O.W. Lag Spikes & High Ping? It is currently March 21st, 2013. & About 3-6 days ago, my service has had horrible lag spikes. & I don't know what the cause of it is. It isn't my Modem. Or my router, or computer. I've resetted everything, & also have tried connecting everything wired, & even wired, I get lag spikes & my ping goes from about 29 to 500+. Then drops back down. I do alot of gaming & while playing, it definitely is noticable. It doesnt just happen on my game, but on my computer as well. I dont think having a tech guy coming to my house would solve anything. I have had this problem happen before & about a month after, it went away by itself. But now it is happening again. Like I said, it started a few days ago. I really do like W.O.W and would hope we didnt have to switch isps. Did wow upgrade anything recently? Or do anything thats causing this? |

Are you buy chance using a phone modem without phone service on it? The problem you're describing sounds similar to an issue some of the older phone modems have when they're not using the phone portion of the modem. If this is the case I should be able to resolve that problem. Yeah, it sounds like this is what's going on. We have the Modem that W.O.W gave us and as far as I know, we arent using the phone service. (we pay for internet and cable tv) the modem brand is Arris. The lights labled: Power, DS, US, Online, Link, & Telephone 1 are all lighting up green on the modem. Telephone 1 is the only one that is blinking. You can resolve the issue? Wonderful! What should I do for you to resolve it?

 Mag join:2013-03-27 Naperville, IL | reply to Mr Respect I think i'm having the same problem, I've contacted WoW and they have just sent a new signal to my box, still having crazy ping and lag spikes.
I have the same modem as talked about before. I even mentioned this community and the techs seem to not understand what I was getting at. |
