[Internet] sync no surf strange behavior

this is weird. when i get the sync no surf issue and no device on my lan can surf the net, i lose voip, etc, pinging google.com doesn't work yet i can ping gogole.com

why does this happen? why is the misspelling of google pingable but not the correct spelling?

it happens with openDNS and also bell's DNS servers. i should see what happens with google DNS and level 3 DNS.

Is the DNS in your modem, router or NIC ?

modem (sagemcom) is in bridge mode, DNS is on router which handles PPPoE

i had the exact same issue... after months of troubleshooting i pinned it to the wireless on the sagemcom. i have since disabled the wireless and bought a engenius AP. Havent had 1 single issue since, up and running for over 6 months, where as before it wouldn't go longer then 48 hours.
