The TSI Empire Strikes Back: $5 fee returns, use the Force

Click for full size
Just looking for some clarity with regards to the $5 upgrading and downgrading fee. I thought the fee to go from unlimited to a set amount of GB (let's say 300GB from TSI West Cable) was no longer applicable. Five months ago, Andre commented that the fee was gone with the wind, »$5 fee for upgrading or downgrading service . I love you guys, but decided having unlimited was more emotional than needed and I want to save $5 for what I'm not using. A CSR was going to charge the fee, I asked for a supervisor, and then they said they would waive it because it was only implemented yesterday with the new pricing. I did not find the reintroduced or new and improved $5 fee under OTHER CHARGES for BC nor QC.

It is my understanding that the $5 is for a speed change only. Cap changes do not get sent to the Incumbents for any reason. Capacity is up to Tek . to manage and gauge pending the users they service and the need for capacity overall.

No incumbent involvement = no fee.

However, should a speed change ( profile ) or tech. change ( gas/vdsl/fttn) be requested, that most definitely requires incumbent involvement and Teksavvy will be charged $5 - and thus passes that cost on.

Unless you can somehow convince Bhell / Robbers to not charge Tek - you will be paying to change your service.

As always - confirmation to follow by Tek......

Alright... Its what I though, the $5 fee does not apply to bandwidth changes as that is an internal change as mentioned by Gimli.

This means that I will be sending a memo internally to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Sorry about that confusion but thanks for sharing it so we can improve on that before it became disastrous!

Dear Staff,

Please remember your cover sheet on your TPS reports...we're
putting the cover sheet on so that our customers don't get charged
$5 .
