If they want to make it a stand alone product then they need to increase the quality of the streams. HBO HD broadcasts in 1080i but HBO Go streams in 720p (at least on the Xbox 360). You also see a lot more compression artifacts with HBO Go. So because of this I will record Game of Thrones with my DVR from HBO HD. HBO Go is a great addition to an HBO subscription if you want to catch up on older seasons of their shows and/or movies they are not currently playing. But for anything currently being broadcast you would be better off with the main product.
