cable not buried

I have been trying since October to have a cable buried that runs across my lawn and driveway as well as my neighbor's. I called on 4 occasions only to be told that the work was scheduled for X date. Still waiting. This is a nuisance and tripping hazard and I'm at my wit's end. Short of cutting the line, what else can be done?
I live on Shady View Lane in Covington, LA.

The best suggestion I could offer would be to walk in to your local Charter office in your area. I would ask to speak to someone over the construction department.

Looking at your location the two closest appear to be about 25 miles away in Slidell or Hammond, LA. The local offices do not accept incoming calls so you would have to walk in.

They sub out that work, it can be up to a year before orders get filled. They also have priority fills over residential. It took me a little over a year to get it buried at my house, that is normal around here.

Trip over it and brake a leg or arm and you'll be able to afford to move away to a Fios area ......

Cut the cable in the driveway and when they ask tell them it was from being driven over, or have your neighbor cut it. If it really has been there since October that is just unacceptable. If you have phone service you would be able to call and request same day service. Just tell them your neighbor is a jerk and with mowing season coming up it will be a weekly occurrence if they don't get it buried.

Have dealt with that once, and the cable got cut by the lawnmower after a few months and when they had to run a new drop it was buried in a couple of days. In other words, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Had the same problem here in MA too. It took a while to get the neighbors drop in the ground. The ped is in my yard. I must have called 3 or 4 times. It finally got done 6 weeks later. Then the next spring my drop needed to be replaced. It took about 3 days to get mine done. They did it even before digsafe made it out.... Unfortunately if you want it done sooner you will have to do it yourself...

Edited to remove all the "the"s my phone put in.....

Don't feel bad, I've been waiting over 4 years for Charter to come bury the main line on the road after the city put in water lines.

4. Years. We've had techs, line techs, plant managers, etc. out here to look at it and nothing gets done. I don't think they care.

You can contact a locally elected official and ask for help. A City Councilor, Mayor, City Manager, local Representative. They are there to serve and they'll have more clout with Charter and utilities. Can't hurt to try.

Your right, hopefully nobody trips over it and sues charter and you even though you're not at fault. Perhaps call your local Code Enforcement office.

my suggestion is cut it, or mow over it. most counties have requirements of the time span that cables must be buried. Cut it, and then call in when "services" dont work. If they do the same thing, and don't bury it within a week, then cut it again, say you mowed over it, and it fucked up your mower too. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and in this situation, the only way to get the local team to care is to start cutting the line. You could also try your local permits office, and file a complaint of an unburied utility line. This might get you somewhere as well.

I have had Charter over 10 years and they have never buried the cables. Over the years when we have someone out for whatever various reason we bring it to their attention. They say they will schedule an "emergency bury" but it never happens.

Between this and the "all digital" forcing me to put a device on every TV in the house I may have to finally ditch Charter for something else.

I think this is all about the area you are in we had more work done last week by Charter reps. Part of fixing a signal problem we were having included putting in a higher grade cable they did this on Tuesday they sent a rep out by Friday to bury the cable.
