 fender join:2007-07-23 Vancouver, BC | Phase 2 - UBC/Vancouver So.. it's Spring 2013.
Any updates on when us folks out here at UBC will see some Phase2(100/10, 250/15) action? |

 | I'm not in UBC, but I'm close. When asking about 250 service around April 2012, and then again in late summer 2012, I was told soon as well.
Not trying to be disrespectful towards Alex, just tossing out what I've been told to add some perspective. I think internally, all the customer care people are only hearing "soon" from the technical side, so that's really all they can pass along. I'm sure at this point it probably will be fairly soon... but if it's another year or so away, that wouldn't totally shock me either. |

Richmond is all done, and now that it's warmer out it's a lot easier to work at full speed.
We want Broadband 250 available just as much as you guys I'll post updates when I get them. |

 | So since Phase 2 may be available in other areas, or is getting close to being available, has there been a demand for BB 250? I was told that BB 100 was the best I can access in my area and I would like to upgrade from BB 50 to BB100 in the mean time but if I was going to go to the unlimited level, what is the point of just upgrading to BB 100 unlimited when I really want unlimited BB 250? If Shaw did not intent to offer BB 250 unlimited but only BB 100 and the various tiers such as BB 100 BB 100+ and finally BB 100 unlimited, what is the use other than a larger download limit with no opportunity for BB 250? I really want to be upgraded to BB 250 as soon as possible and from my converstation from last night, I was told that BB 250 was not that popular or is not being asked for and may not roll out any time soon? If the speed cannot be provided, why is it listed as an option and who do I need to talk to to make sure Shaw knows that I really want BB 250 as soon as it is available in my area.

Edward Letendre |

BB250 will be available when it's ready.
I'm glad to hear you are interested in it; and if you haven't already been put on the waiting list; send me your account number and I can have someone give you a ring when it's ready.
Cheers |

Our definitions of Soon are very very different.
(It's been another 5 months.) |

2 edits | It was also "soon" last summer when I called shaw to inquire about it. Not to mention the bump-up program has been in the soon/early next X for quite some time now also.
*edit*
Directly from the shaw.ca website:
When you subscribe to one of our Broadband Internet packages, you will be opting into the Bump-Up Program. If you exceed your package's included data, you will automatically be bumped up to the next level of Broadband Internet package for the remainder of your billing cycle. Once your new billing cycle begins, you will return to your original Internet package and your data will be reset to zero. The first time your included data is exceeded, you will receive one month's grace and won't be bumped up to the next tier. The Bump-Up Program is coming soon in 2013. (emphasis mine) If I didn't know any better, I'd say Shaw was just stringing us along... |

| i was told my area would get bb250 + upgraded upload and that it was scheduled for completion in march of my area, i was told this before i even signed up for shaw as i was bugged by the upload download ratio and told them all i cared about was upload, this was back in febuary, since then it has been moved to july, canceled, then rescheduled, and then when the did the dnu they did nothing to the internet and tell me dnu has nothing to do with it (even tho they say that they need to do dnu to upgrade they lie, im pretty sure whoever is making decisions when to upgrade would much rather get shaw go wifi done because they are bloody retards and only upgrade areas when congestion comes /rant
ps i was also told by shaw alex i would get upgraded speeds when dnu was done and to message him then to get them, guess that was wrong info aswell. and why other users in areas who dont have bb250 available are able to get 100/10 and im not amazes me, i have had the techs try to push the DNU phase 2 codes to my cmts and modem and the cmts wouldnt accept cause it hasnt been clicked over to dnu completed, however other users who only have 100 available are able to get it, makes 0 sense to me cant wait to go back to telus -- Shaw Broadband 100/5 - Cisco DPC3825 - Asus RT-AC66U |

Hasn't there been a few posts by users about overusage on the BB plans? You would think they wouldn't bother if the bump up program really was just around the corner? |
