Technically you could still use a sagemcom modem bought on Craigslist or Kijiji as long as
- the modem came from bell or teksavvy or start
- the modem serial # wasn't associated with an active DSL account

Well, the problem with those modems is that 90% of them are non-returned Bell modems. If Bell checks the serial number they will probably refuse it.
