Changing the IP address

I recently switched back to cable for my internet. I noticed I was given a much smaller cable modem this time, and it hands out a private IP instead of passing through the public one.

How do you change the public IP if needed? Keep in mind I am not meaning the private IP on the other end.

Did you get a router? Look at switching it to bridge mode?

If you examine your modem closely, you may discover that it has both a Vendor and a Model number.

Our chances of giving you accurate advice on how to program your device are greatly enhanced if we knew the vendor and model number. But we don't.

Only you can decide you want help enough to tell us what you possess.

I have an Arris TM702G/CT and I need to know how to find the IP address for remote viewing of my home security cam. Can you point me in the right direction?
