[TWC] Unannounced visit, called support with ? They were cluelesSaturday March 23rd, 9:30am CST some kid shows up lightly knocking (like he really didnt want someone to hear him but did it so he could say he showed up and nobody answered) on my gf's apt. door wearing street clothes and a hoodie (not something I would expect from someone representing TWC).
We do not answer the door to anyone we arent familiar with and this guy was not dressed like any TWC field tech Ive ever seen in the 13 years Ive had Internet service with them since they first started offering RoadRunner (Probably wouldnt have answered the door regardless as this seemed like an unnessary visit and no contact initiated to my gf), I msgd her asking if she heard from them prior to this incident even though I know her well enough she would have mentioned something so I would have been able to expect this. He must have stood outside the door at least a minute before Nexteling someone over his what I would guess company provided mobile.
He wouldnt look at the door so I could get a look at him all I saw was a side profile of his face. I couldnt hear anything through the door other than a muffled address confirmation, then he walked back down the stairwell. At first when he knocked on the door I thought it was my gfs thug neighbor kid which I surely wasnt answering the door to as Im watching her small child while shes at work.
I quickly ran to the bedroom to see what vehicle he came in and it was a TWC van parked just almost outside my vision almost like he didnt want her to see who might be here since there were plenty of parking spaces directly in front of her part of the building (all of the spaces, approximately 5 unoccupied), almost like he went out of his way to park behind 3 cars in front of the thug kids apt. on the opposite side of the building (across the hall).
I called TWC immediately following his departure asking the reason for an unannounced visit and explaining I didnt answer the door due to lack of identifying uniform, after validating my gfs account phone number and name on the account they asked if he was in a TWC vehicle which I said yes & they proceeded to act like they had no idea why someone showed up and would be escalating the ticket higher up due to the concern and that was it. After the call I opened the door looking for a note or evidence of any kind of the visit to no avail.
The only thing I could think of which still should have warranted prior communication of some sort is about a week ago or so I discovered someone was piggybacking off her wifi, this has since been remedied. Who knows how long this had gone on for or what they were doing with her Internet, I know TWC keeps logs of all network usage for 10 years on all customers, I read this in the 6 page fine print brochure (45 minutes of reading) explaining the contract and your rights as a customer when I first got service in 2000.
This is the most creepy visit Ive ever experienced! Had my blood going pretty good for awhile.
What gets me is if this kid was talking to someone via Nextel walkie-talkie the person on the other end had to be at home base and there should have been some record of this, why did this require a ticket to be created and escalated? Dont they know how to use a database to log and monitor all activity on accounts in real time? This should not have required any ticket of any kind, they should have known immediately the reason when they pulled up the account. This IDK BS dont cut it.
Anyone else experience behavior such as this? |

As Jabbu stated he was quite possibly at the wrong address. There probably was a record of it on the account where he was supposed to be at. Its very likely the call center agent who answered your call would have no clue and creating a ticket would have been the right course of action.

Couldn't help but notice your jabs at the guy for being so young and thug like. Props to him for at least having a job. Its too bad people stereo type so much. He was at the wrong address obviously. If the guy meant any harm don't you think he would have knocked hard enough to get you to answer your door instead of "lightly knocking" as you said. Close this thread and lets move on this thread is a waste. |

Agreed. I also assume it is cold in Kansas right now, hence a hooded sweatshirt. |

I wear hoodies myself, not sure where (stereotype) not spelled "stereo type" fits in here, that's neither here nor there. I on the other hand prefer my pants around my waist not my knees. Thanks for your insight. My post according to you was such a waste but yet I got you to invest another minute (couldn't have been more due to the misspelling) of your life you won't get back in the response. =D |
