mdavej join:2004-06-09 Greenville, SC | [HSI] Old 3Mbps Internet plan now 20Mbps! For those of you still on the old 3Mbps plan, I just saw a big speed increase in my market. As you know, a couple of years ago this plan was $20, then went to $25 last year and just recently up to $30.
Just as I was about to drop Charter and go back to DSL, they finally gave me a little more value for that 50% price increase over the past 2 years. While I'm not happy with the price, I am satisfied with the speed and the ability to keep a $30 plan versus the $47 plan that it the lowest offered to new customers now. However, they do call quite often, trying to get me to change plans.
So if you're on the old plan, hang in there. Hopefully you'll get a big bump in speed as well. |

 | reply to mdavej Just out of curiosity, how did they notify you of the speed bump? |
|
 | reply to mdavej Absolutely NOTHING locking you into that price. Can you say price increase in the future? LOL |

mdavej join:2004-06-09 Greenville, SC | reply to mdavej I got no notice of the speed increase whatsoever. I just read a rumor that it might happen, and started checking every week.
I agree with you guys that Charter will eventually screw me over again. I just hope I can at least ride this out another year. By then maybe I'll have a few more alternatives. |

I've NEVER been notified by them officially and usually only find out from this site, or by simply noticing that internet is faster. -- The Firefox alternative. »www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ |

Forgot to say it was always after reading about them here, and I'm not sure I read about the last one in the mail. My memory is atrocious. |

"Important Message about your Charter Internet Service - Great news! During the month of March your Internet speed will be increased."
Since I'm paperless, I rarely open the pdf bill unless the numbers don't look right. So I really was notified but didn't notice.
BTW, my old package is called "Internet Lite Service". |
