 | Modem issue? I have 50/5 internet with TWC, but the wifi speeds cap out at 20 down, and the wifi often drops.
Is there an issue with my modem? It's a D3 Ubee modem. Should I ask for a new one, or buy one of my own?
Thanks! |

 | reply to Tom34 first try hard wired. what kind of modem and router do you have? my initial guess is an overwhelmed wifi router being pushed the max until it drops/resets |

edit-swap it for a non-ubee. |

 | reply to Tom34 I have a very similar issue. I get 50 down wired, and 10-15 with wifi,with frequent drops. I'm using a ubee 3VW3200.
I'm considering a new modem if it will allow me to get full speeds. The modem is with arms reach. |

| For gateways you could try a DG860A, if you don't have phone or a TG862G if you have phone service, I'm not sure if a full 50Mbps would work over wireless N, but I get a full 31Mbps through my TG862G and windows says I'm getting a 150Mbps wireless speed rate, but that speed is limited by my wireless card, so others could get higher rates. I don't have any wifi drops with any of my wifi devices, but I think a separate router is still better than combo units, but I'd have to say the Arris is a decent unit. |
