Re: [FiOS] Port forwarding issues with Frontier FIOS, Washington Update: After much frustration, I spent 90 minutes with Frontier tech support along with an ActionTec rep. Finally, I got in touch with a tech who came from Verizon. She said that she thought that the rev c had issues and admitted that Frontier no longer updated the router. She told me she would send me a new router. The router turned out to be an ActionTech MI424WR rev I. I had no problem getting the ports forwarded and all is well. I can now view my security cameras from the internet.
Thank you Frontier. |

 | [FiOS] Port forwarding issues with Frontier FIOS, Washington sta Current network configuration 1. I have bridged my FIOS Actiontech MI424-WR rev C router and released it's IP address. It has no IP address, the firewall is disabled allowing all incoming and outgoing traffic and the wireless is turned off. 2. I installed a Linksys 3500 router. It received an IP address from Frontier. 3. I opened ports: 80, 8888 tcp/udp on the Linksys. I can view my security cameras using the WAN address locally, but trying to access them from a neighbors FIOS system was unsuccessful. 4. I changed the port forwarding from my DVR to my laptop and opened up yougetsignal.com to test the ports. I disabled my laptop software firewall and found out that port 80 is open, but 8888 is closed. I then tried opening other ports above 1024 to see if it was an issue with just port 8888. I could not get any port to open other than port 80.
Question: Is Frontier blocking all ports except 80? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to forward port 8888. |
