Best way to do this? Intranet website

I have two different active directory domains, dept1.domain.org and dept2.domain.org. They're also on different subnet.
Dept1 has an intranet.dept1.domain.org website that has documents for employees to use. I'd like people from dept2 to be able to access that intranet site.
The intranet does not have dns name, so only our staff can access it.

This previously worked, I simply created an A record in dept2's AD/DNS to point to the IP of the intranet webserver on the dept1 subnet.

I changed the CMS to Wordpress, which seems to be sensitive to domain name changes. It needs specific fqdn binding in IIS, otherwise some images won't even load. I have a feeling this is not going to work, but I'm just wondering if anyone was in the same situation.

Is there a full trust?

Nope, no need for full trust because we have no need for authentication, just standard iusr anonymous browsing.

Can you expand on the issues?

Why don't you just have the people in dept 2 hit the site with an IP address?

As long as you have anonymous browsing enabled, it shouldn't matter.

Did you set up host headers in your virtual web server in IIS?

I agree, you need to look at the website settings and set them up how you want them.
