This is one of the sleazier fees out there. They may as well charge a "color TV fee."

It's really only a matter of time before they nickel and dime themselves out of existence.

It is a slight of hand, because if you have a package, such as HD Preferred, or anything mentioning HD, the "FEE" is already included in the package price, it is not a separate line item. Yes, it does include allowing you to see channels in HD, and 1 HD converter/DVR. Any additional boxes are extra, but are covered by the HD FEE that is part of your package price. This is for TIVO, and those using COMCAST equipment. If your package does not mention HD, then it may be a grandfathered package, so for the time being you are not paying it. But once you change for more channels, or a price, you will be paying it, either as a line item, or as part of your package price.
