How does signal on LTE compare to 3G on Sprint

I can get sprint 3G reasonaly well in my location. I'm probably 8 miles from the nearest tower but that most of that is over open water (I'm on an island off southern Massachusetts.)

I see that Sprint has upgraded the towers to LTE.

Would I expect the same reception with 4G vs. 3G? I may invest in a 4G mifi and give it a try but I wanted to see if 4g signal would travel as well as 3G.

Thanks, Grant

The new Sprint LTE is on 1900 so it would penetrate buildings better than travel distances . That being said you could use an old dual band antenna / amplifier to increase your signal . Now you have to find someone with a new Sprint 4G device to come to your area and see what you have to work with.
