Basically a number of years back we didn't have BH service. We finally got BH to build out to our building and they fed off a node that is all residential users.
To this day we still have latency and speed issues.
Our latency consistently bounces around and our speed is all jump.
Can you check our levels and SNR for US and DS and let me know if they are okay and give other thoughts?
IP is XX.XXX.XX.XXX (actual modems IP) we have 5 statics.
No splitters or anything on the line and the wire is a direct run from tap on the building to the modem. (that tap is physically at the building) Over time they have added a number of other customers on the tap (use to be a one port) which hasn't helped. I think the tap was changed to more ports though so shouldn't be splitters in it but who knows.
I don't know if the modem just is a issue, noise on line, bad signal or congestion. The issues are very random throughout the day/night.
Even if I go to speedtest.net and use the orlando BH server the ping is generally 200+ tough other ones seem okay minus the speed jumping all over and struggling to get up.
Thx. The speed jumping on that test isn't what you think it is...the eye candy display is just that...eye candy and has no relationship to the test occuring at the same time. What counts is your final result. In the meantime I will be looking at your equipment and get back with you. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed.
