When I contact Sonic they say that my speed is 15.7 mps and my line looks "really good". When I run the sonic.net speed test is says I am getting 13.41 mps download. I have a Zxyzel router with firewall and Windows 7. I know there is a throughput hit because of the hardware firewall. I do have a punch block where I split the incoming phone wire to all the outlets in my house.
Any suggestions where I can look to get up to the 15.7 Sonic tech support sees? What are they looking at to get that speed?
Are you seeing this speed by logging into the router or via a speed test? Most ADSL related protocols suffer about 10%-20% loss over the listed speed just due to overhead. Also most internet speed tests don't seem to do well with the bonded product. You will want to test via an ftp download. Any support agent in our office can help you with that testing.
