Cable modem installed yesterday, sometimes pages load and other times they don't load at all. Once I'm on a page like youtube a 1 hour video will load just fine with no lag. I entered the cable modem but there is no way to change the dns. It just has a page that says I can add a DDNS from dyndns.org. Any ideas on flashing the firmware?
Firmware comes from the ISP. Typically if the ISP determines a FW upgrade is needed they will send out the upgrades to all affected modems at once or in batches depending on the infrastructure and things.
If you want to use custom DNS just do it from your workstation or router.
The problem is on this router / cable modem it has no option to assign dns. It is using the dns from here (Claro Nicaragua). If I connect a linksys router and change the dns for that would it work?
