Slant Fin Gas furnace - water dripping from overflow pipe

My 7 year old slant fin furnace has started to drip water regularly from the overflow pipe. I have to empty small bucket of water each day. Any suggestions on what's causing this and what I can I do fix it?

Thanks,
Rob

Is this a hot air furnace, or a hot water boiler?

What does the pressure gauge on the boiler indicate the system pressure is?

Slant Air is a brand name of boilers and related hot water baseboard heaters.

Your expansion tank is not doing its job, and the expansion in the system is causing the pressure to go over the normal 30psi, and drip from the relief valve.

If you have an old style air over water expansion tank, it needs purged of its water. If you have a new style bladder tank, it needs refilled with the proper charge of air.

Could also have a bad fill valve that isnt shutting off at the proper pressure, but thats less likely than the expansion tank.

If you dont know what I`m talking about, you need to call a professional. Your relief valve may also need changed, or boiler damage from pressure and fresh water can result.
