Wyngs join:2010-02-20 Coos Bay, OR | [HN9000] web pages slow and incomplete Normally I don't gripe a whole lot, but there has definitely been a trend the last few days where things have just been growing worse. Most web pages will not load completely or at all. It begin as a minor annoyance, and now has gotten so bad that I'm not getting to most sites during the day at all, or getting them in a usable form.
In the wee hours today, when Hughes normally works it's best, the problem has started appearing there.
This is hard to understand when receive strength is running 180+.
I rebooted the MODEM which did not help.
At 1:05 PM, Oregon coast, the internet is almost unusable. I type at this page, with most of the small graphics not appearing - not even sure if I'll be able to submit this message. |

 | reply to Wyngs Getting the same problem here in Michigan and getting worse. Started about a week ago with poor internet speeds, especially with secure sites such as google calendar and financial sites. Test yesterday downloading NBC news at 30 seconds, google calendar login page finally at 6 minutes when I could get it at all. 14 tech support calls with Hughes so far. They sent a new modem to me - No change. Last tech support call they said the problem is with the satellite and will be fixed in a couple of hours. That was yesterday and no fix yet. I am running very low on patience with Hughesnet. |

I think I would just leave the internet world after dealing with that many calls, that's ridiculous. -- HT1000/ BeamID 32/ Power Max plan/ 4 pcs on a D-Link wired switch/ wireless D-Link router with password
Support only the gaming company's that matter the most, pay for something that actually is worth buying or has a good reason for how much it's worth. |

Wyngs join:2010-02-20 Coos Bay, OR | reply to Wyngs Dangd if I remember the name. (grin) It's at home, probably the cheapest one. Started out at 200MBs, went to 250MBs, and then they added the unused MBs.
Does that help? I went thru what paperwork I had here and I still don't know what they called it.
I have never called support. I'm pretty sure now that my only call will be when I close my account.
Gonna miss the download zone, but at least the people using EXEDE can get on the internet. I just spent the better part of an hour just trying to get to 3-4 sites. (groan) |

 | Sounds like you are on the "Basic" plan. |

To give credit where it's due, the internet has been functioning well the last two days - for the most part. Speeds are nothing to brag about, but soooo much better then the week or so that preceded it.
I didn't say anything yesterday because I was sure it wouldn't last. Now Hughes has me hoping again. (grin) |
