1 edit | [Midwest] ATT gives up as an ISP, tells you to go elsewhere My aunt has 1.5 mbps dsl. Years ago she qualified for the 3 mbps plan. One street over a neighbor has full uverse and tv. She needs faster speeds for work. She calls ATT to try and get faster speed. The ATT phone rep strait up and tells her that she should get a new ISP.
They wont add increases on your dsl speed anymore and they gave up selling UVerse so they just tell you to find a new ISP.
She called Comcast and got internet through them then canceled ATT dsl but kept her copper phone line.
I am just blown away at how mismanaged ATT is. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |

 | The customer service rep gave you good advice. That'll probably cost him or her their job, if the tape of that conversation ever gets reviewed, "for quality assurance purposes". |

| reply to r81984 Believe me, as soon as AT&T can bring the legislators and regulatory agencies in the 22 states where AT&T is the ILEC on board with the idea of relieving AT&T from the responsibility to continue to maintain and provide POTS, the copper phone line won't be an option anymore either.
Here is AT&T's vision of the future for home telephone service: »www.att.com/shop/wireless/device···ver.html
