ISP for SMB

Hello,

Im looking for an ISP for my small home business in Monreal. Here are my criterias:

- Has to run on coaxial (dsl barely makes it inside...)
- Download at 20-30mbit/s and upload at 10mbits/s+ (should be standard for most cable ISP with VDT recent upload upgrade)
- Static IPs available with no inbound port restrictions.
- Unlimited bandwidth (or at lease 500gb)
- Pricing below 100$/month

My search has stopped on ElectronicBox and Acanac but both have their down side... One have a bandwidth limitation (could become an issue) and the other has speed limitations during peak hours...

Ill be using it to host a few small servers (small hosting services and school projects).

Do you have any other suggestions then those two? Id like to stick with a "regular" ISP and avoid costly Ethernet circuits.

Thx!

You will have hard time finding a cable IISP that offer static IP, this is not an available option on videotron side.

Yes it is.

It's an option with business internet, which is what he stated he is looking for.

See:
»affaires.videotron.com/web/small···imate-30

1. He stated under 100$. Yup.
2. He stated unlimited. Yup, if he get's it before next weeks deadline.
3. Coax. Yup.
4. Download at 20-30mbit/s and upload at 10mbits/s+. Yup.

Videotron sells everything he is asking for here. for about 92$ w/ contract. Static IP extra.

Isn't there an addon price for unlimited with Videotron ($10)?

Although, 1TB is a pretty generous cap.

I *think* the 1TB is the unlimited. See the same single "*"? Comes with it.

but, me personally, I wouldn't take a 3-yr contract. 1 year at most. But then it's over his stated price of 100$.

Damn! fail on me! didn't even look at Videotron assuming they'd overprice!

Seems like a nice deal, 1TB should be ok but if they offer an unlimited subscription, I might look into it.

With the unlimited fee and static IP fee, I might consider the Ultimate Speed Internet 20 instead.

Anyhow, thx!!

oh, I forgot to say, I don't know if business internet is getting the free 10-meg upload. I didn't check into it.

So best to call and ask this before you buy it.

For their business internet, it appears the "unlimited fee" is included in the price. You have till April 6th to get this promotion. Just the static IP isn't included.

Also, you could get residential internet unlimited till around the 20th of April, but then you don't get a static IP period. Not sold on residential. And you would have blocked ports (80 & 25 I think). But at least there's no contract.

So if you *require* a static IP for mail server, web-server, etc, business internet is the one you want.

Just call them and ask.
