Is it possible to transfer series and favorites to new box?

Hi,
Quick question..
I have a box that is failing (7216), the hard drive is making a lot of noise lately and driving us nuts.. I am planning to get it replaced soon, is there any way to backup the saved "series" listing and "favorites" listing (don't care for the actual recorded programs...) from the old box and transfer it to the new box?
Thanks!

Great! I think I can work with just the 'series', how do I do that? do I need to have both boxes on at the same time? I dont seem to find any info inside the guide..
Thanks!

When I recently swapped a 7232 for a 6416, while I was messing around in the menus to get things set up, I came across an item that asked if I wanted to transfer the series I had on the old box to the new one from the "cloud". I answered yes and all the series from the 6416 showed up on the new one. The old box was NOT connected to the system at the time.

V* must save them on their servers in an area associated with your account. Also, I never made a selection, on the old box, to save/export that info - at least I don't think I did...

There is an option that you will want to perform on the old box, so that it transfers your Series info into "the cloud". Then on the new box, when you go to add a program to record, it will ask if you want to restore the info from "the cloud". Select yes and your series data should all reappear.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it when you try to add a SERIES recording, it will query you?

That may be it... I know I had seen someone post that adding a series did it... but thought I had also seen that someone else had mentioned adding a recording.
