[Tampa] BHN Tampa Home Security - exterior lighting control?

I called the Home Security sales team this am, hoping that you could integrate Zigbee light switches into the system to control exterior lighting with the system and phone apps. Apparently this service is not yet "approved" by BHN. But the tech did say that if I happened to buy and install a light switch, the tech could try and pair it with the system. However, it wouldn't be supported should something go wrong.

Has anyone used the BHN system with Zigbee light switches? If so, what were your experiences?

Thanks!

Best bet in this case is to wait.... this is one area you don't want to be experimenting with.

yeah, I hear what you are saying....I just wish there was some sort of date. Whether we're talking weeks or months....

plus, I'm having a tough time even finding the Zigbee lighting modules. The Z-Wave stuff seems to be everywhere.

I know the security guys well and will poke around their cubes tomorrow and see what I can get in the way of an answer for ya.

thanks, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Another option is to go with the Honeywell Lynx 5100, or the Mi Casa Verde or 2Gig systems, but the monitoring cost will all be about the same, but with those other options, there'd be a pretty significant cash outlay. I'd like to go with the BHN equipment, if those exterior lighting controlls are anywhere in the near future.

Did you happen to get a chance to tap one of those guys on the shoulders?

I did and these are coming very shortly. The appliance controls are available now. Light controllers any time now.

Also, just to clarify, their not only outside lighting controls. They will control any lights or outlets with a switch (just in case someone else stumbles on here and has the wrong idea)

I'll do better...Once they start installing I will post back...feel free to bump as needed just in case I suffer from shiny penny syndrome.
