yhp join:2006-12-27 Philadelphia, PA | [Price] Digital Econ channelgeddon (Philly) Woke up today to find a surprisingly long list of channels are no longer authorized on my Digital Econ sub: MSNBCHD, TNT(SD/HD), Bloomberg (SD/HD), CNBC (SD/HD), TCM (SD/HD), CSPAN3 (SD).
I'm surprised because Bloomberg HD and MSNBCHD are relatively recent ADDITIONS to the DE lineup. Why bother adding them in the first place to yank them only months later? AFAIK, the CSPANs are free, and TNT SD strikes me as a "low-rent" channel available on even Expanded Basic, no? And doesn't XFINITY basically own MSNBC and CNBC???
All this after a price hike at the beginning of the year. [middle finger] |

I've been waiting for the TCM shoe to drop for some time, so I've been prepared for that (but not looking forward to it). Looks like we were one of the last markets to see that channel moved to Digital Preferred. All of the other channel drops surprised me, though. |

Last time I checked, TCM was still on our Digital Starter tier, so that my DTAs could still receive it, but I have read that it has been moved to the Preferred tier in most areas by now. I guess I'll see if that finally happens for us this month now. |
