[IPV6] Question

I have a fairly new Netgear router but it's not capable of IPV6. My Comcast cable modem shows IPV6. I don't really feel like buying a new router right now. Are there any immediate issues or do I have a few years to worry?

Relax, there is no immediate need to be IPv6 capable.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I keep hearing so much about IPV6, but didn't know how important it really was right now.

WNR2000v1, WNR2000v2, WNR2000v3, or WNR2000v4?

If it is a WNR2000v1 then you are probably out of luck, but you can try downloading the latest firmware from »support.netgear.com/product/WNR2000v1 to see if that helps.

Even though the WNR2000v2 and WNR2000v4 are not shown in the official IPv6 compatibility page at »kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19308 , I have heard (but can not confirm) that they are IPv6 capable with the latest firmware.

You can download the latest WNR2000v2 firmware from »support.netgear.com/product/WNR2000v2

You can download the latest WNR2000v3 firmware from »support.netgear.com/product/WNR2000v3

You can download the latest WNR2000v4 firmware from »support.netgear.com/product/WNR2000v4

For all of Netgear's products, you can also browse their FTP site at »ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/ for the latest firmware for your specific model (sometimes the FTP site will have newer firmware that has not been referenced yet on the web site).
