Comcast supplying wrong content on NTSC signal channels

My local street had a power outage due to Power company work. That evening, the Disney channel was present on 2 channels ( Disney and the Comedy channel ( 55 and 63 - NTSC format channels ) , and some of the HD signals I normally get were not there. I do not use a cable box, choosing to use the QAM tuner on my HDTV.
I used chat to contact Comcast, who insisted it was a problem with my TV; wanted to diagnose by having me put in a cablebox, ( at 11:30 PM... ), insisted I should rescan the channels - TV was finding content on the channels, it was just the WRONG content on channel 63 ...
After escalating to a supervisor, at 11:45 I gave up on watching the Daily Show, and just asked the supervisor to notifiy my local Comcast office that something was scrambled in the distribution for my area.
The next day, the Comedy Channel had Comedy Channel content. Some of the HD channels are still not there.
Anyone know what the heck is going on? Seems like the problem was just local, or the support should have had hundreds of Daily Show starved customers calling.

You do not have any rights to complain about your QAM tuner to comcast . Comcast can(will) change, encrypt or remove any channels without any info.

Not too helpful, there, timtom.
Presumably, Comcast would like to supply customers with the content stated in the channel guide, on the channels designated. I had Disney x2, and no Comedy.
This is kinda Mickey Mouse, No?
I am geek, and would like to know how this kinda f-up happens, you know? And they did fix the Disney part after I let them know. Now to get the HD part fixed.

It's sad but timtom is right. Comcast frequently changes the QAM listings in my area twice monthly, or more! They will soon be getting rid of unencrypted QAM so you'll need a box sooner or later. But there is nothing you can really do. I'm surprised they did anything. I think the issue correctly itself rather than them fixing anything on their end. Also it's kind of hard to understand what you are writing?

Regards and good luck,

Comcast subscribers have a right to complain about not getting what Comcast states they provide. Comcast states: "If you have a Digital QAM tuner, you don’t need a digital device to view limited basic cable channels." (from »customer.comcast.com/help-and-su···m-tuner/).

Subscribers may need to have their QAM tuners do a rescan for digital channels when their local Comcast system changes the digital TV signal configuration in certain ways. Once the local Comcast system starts encrypting all TV signals, the local subscribers will need to get a digital device from Comcast to decrypt the signals. Comcast will notify the subscribers before starting to encrypt all TV signals.

The original poster wrote that there was a problem with NTSC signals; those are analog, not digital. When I was a Comcast subscriber, the local Comcast system would occasionally foul up the analog signals as the original poster described (the same signal on multiple channels). I would wait a few day to give Comcast quality control a chance to realize that there was a problem. However, they never did. Sending email to we_can_help@comcast.com got the problem description forwarded to someone in the regional office who was able to do something about the problem.

Comedy channel and Disney channel are not part of basic channels.
Before you write something check first.
Even basic goes away in next few months

Second you can not get NTSC signal with QAM tuner(FYI NTSC is analog QAM is digital)

They are part of Expanded Basic. The opening post indicates that the poster gets Expanded Basic in analog ("Disney and the Comedy channel ( 55 and 63 - NTSC format channels )"). At one time, I got them in analog, too.

That's right, you need a NTSC tuner. I didn't state otherwise. I don't know of any TV that has QAM tuner than does not also have a NTSC tuner.

Question is
Is he using QAM or NTSC tuner?

Are we talking about an ATSC tuner? »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATSC_tuner Last I checked QAM or Quadrature amplitude modulation is both a digital and analog modulation scheme. »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QAM
