[Internet] latency issues with lightning orlando / windermere
just upgraded to lightning 60mb about two weeks ago. speedtests and pingtests all check out .. 60/5mb upload/download and 0% packet loss. for some reason I'm always lagging on my xbox when playing online games. gears of war, cod etc ... honestly I use to lag less when I was on turbo so I'm confused .. .. I've tried all typical settings to improve online play(upnp, forwarding ports etc) but nadda. I did a MTU test and my recommended MTU size is 1500 which I assume is the routers default. The router won't allow me to change the size.
any ideas? I'm using the motorola surfboard 6580.
My only other idea is to put it in bridge mode and go out and buy a better router .. perhaps something like: »bit.ly/Zx7qXo

That would only fix things if the latency were a result of the gateway which is not likely. Open a direct forums thread here »Bright House Networks Direct and include your IP address so I can take a closer look. You will need to register here first.
