CNN LATINO TO AIR ON CH. 3 Christine Hall New York Business Journal ------------------------- CNN Latino agreed with WBQM-LD Channel 3 to air its content in New York City.
The deal is part of the news channel's expansion of its Spanish-language programming to New York, Orlando, Tampa and Phoenix.
Channel 3, owned by TMA-TIG, to carry the CNN Latino eight-hour programming block from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
It's unusual for a cable network to broadcast on terrestrial stations. I'm a little confused though; I take it it's a digital channel, but according to Wikipedia, it broadcasts on channel 50, part of NJTV. but its virtual channel is 3.1. Also, if it's low power, 1.5 kW, what is its signal area and the location of its transmitter? -- A clock unwinds, a flower dies... |

Or is Channel 3 going to be on Channel 50, which might make sense for cable. |

Checking the FCC database, it appears they are operating a slightly directional antenna located near First Ave and 48th Street in Manhattan. The antenna has a slight direction to the NE. |
